REDSUN is a leading producer and supplier of paving solutions and related accessories. REDSUN was founded in 1985 by Ger van Ommeren and remains an owner-managed family company to this day. Originally, we operated as a wholesaler specializing exclusively in natural stone and were among the first companies to import natural stone from the Far East.
Over the years, our portfolio has expanded continuously and now includes high-quality concrete products, ceramic tiles, and CERASUN. With the addition of concrete products to our range, our former premises in Cuijk soon became too small. We therefore began searching for a larger location where we could also build a concrete production facility and create a true one-stop solution for our customers.
This requirement was fully met by our new site in Kevelaer in the Lower Rhine region, where we have been based since 2000. In 2001, we commissioned our first concrete production plant. In 2021, the fifth plant was brought into operation. All factories are equipped with the latest technologies, including a high-end production line from the manufacturer Masa, enabling state-of-the-art surface finishing. Thanks to integrated processing and our one-stop approach, we reduce transportation and minimize environmental impact.
Over the years, we have also grown significantly as an organization. Together with our subsidiary ALUXE, which specializes in patio covers, REDSUN now employs nearly 500 people. Among them are Arjan, Geert, and Coen, the sons of Ger van Ommeren, who have held management positions within the company for several years. Like their father, they share a passion for concrete, ensuring that REDSUN will continue to stand for the highest quality in the years to come.
